Why Donate Blood?

You don’t need a special reason to give blood.  You just need your own reason.
  • Some of us give blood because we were asked by a friend.
  • Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood some day.
  • Some believe it is the right thing we do.

Whatever your reason, the need is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply.  And  you’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life.

Some Health Benefits

Helen Woodward Animal Centers Brings Pets to Fair & Talks about Dog Surf a Thon

July 21, 2011

Helen Woodward Animal Center will have a booth at the CSD Fair where their professional staff and volunteers will be sharing information about our Surf Dog Surf-a-thon event (and others), education programs, AniMeals, and Adoptions.

The best part is that they are bringing live animals!

You and your kids will enjoy seeing adorable dogs provided by the Center. They are also collecting pet food for the companion animals of homebound seniors, so please bring bags and cans of dog food and cat food.

The Helen Woodward Animal Center is one of San Diego’s best loved charities.  They are recognized for incredible community outreach programs where they embodied their mission for “People helping animals and animals helping people.”

One way you can help the Animal Center is by bringing in donations of pet food.  You can bring in cans of Pedigree, Whiskas and Friskies to the Fair on July 29th from 10:00 – 4:00, or drop off the food to any of our local offices before July 28th.
