Take this Opportunity to Give Back

Help us make this Community Service Day Fair a HUGE success for San Diego by volunteering to help.  There are so many ways to get involved; so jump in any way you can!

.

How the Community can get Involved

  • Sign up to Donate Blood
    • We will have a bloodmobile from the American Red Cross at the CSD Fair and are looking to secure 70 donors.
    • Please come to the fair and sign up to donate blood; it’s the easiest way to save a life!
  • Register to be a Bone Marrow Donor
    • More than 35,000 people in the US are diagnosed with life threatening diseases every year that can only be treated with a stem cell transplant.  You can help save these lives by coming by the American Red Cross booth at the CSD Fair and registering to be a bone marrow donor.  It takes just minutes to do!
  • Pack food for the Hungry
    • We teamed up with Friends & Family Community Connection to set up a food packing assembly at the CSD Fair and need 200+ volunteers to give 2 hours of time to pack food. That’s a lot of help, so please volunteer!
    • Click HERE to sign up for a time slot at the Real Living Lifestyles Food Packing Event (FPE).
  • Collect Pajamas for Kids
    • There are several thousands of children in shelters in our local area and many of them don’t have luxuries we take for granted, like pajamas.  Please help them stay warm at night by donating new pajamas to Leez PJ’s for Kids.  You can bring donations to the CSD Fair or drop them off at any Real Living Lifestyles office before July 28th.
    • This is a great opportunity to teach your kids about charity.  Ask them to help you collect PJs and make a difference in another child’s life.  At the fair they can color and write a message to the children receiving the PJs.
  • Donate Crayons & Coloring Books
    • Rady Children’s Hospital playrooms go through approximately 1,400 packs of crayons a year.  By donating crayons, coloring books and other art supplies, you can help these children through a very tough time in their lives. You can bring donations to the CSD Fair or drop them off at any Real Living Lifestyles office before July 28th.
  • Get an ID and Fingerprints for Your Child
    • Having current ID for your kids can make a big difference in their safety.  Project your most valuable assets by letting us give you free finger printing and IDs for your kids. Just bring your kids to the CSD Fair on June 18th from 10 – 4 and we’ll take care of the rest.
  • Collect food for Local Resource Centers
    • During the holidays local resource centers receive many donations, but in the summer time they struggle to collect food.  Help us feed the tens of thousands of people in San Diego who are going without healthy meals by dropping off canned goods and non-perishable items at the fair.
    • We also need volunteers to load donations in the truck at the Fair and meet at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas to unload donations.
    • Follow this link to read the full list of items we are collecting.
  • Recycle Your Electronic Waste
    • E-World Recyclers will be at the CSD Fair to take your old electronics off your hands.  Don’t throw out old computers or VRCs!  Bring them to the fair so we can dispose of them properly for you.  Electronic Recycling will be available from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.   It’s the smart choice for the environment.
    • Follow this link to read the full list of items you can recycle at the fair.
  • Shred Old Documents
    • Don’t throw our old documents, Shred them!  We welcome guests to bring up to two file boxes full of old papers/documents/mail to the CSD Fair and have them shredded free of charge.
    • This booth will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • Follow this link to read the full list of items you can have shredded.
  • Learn about Pet Care with Live Animals
    • The Helen Woodward Animal Center will have a booth at the CSD Fair where their professional staff will be teaching guests about pet care.  The best part is that they are bringing live animals!  You and your kids will enjoy seeing adorable puppies and kittens while learning how to care for animals.  They are also collecting pet food for starving animals, so please bring cans of dog food and cat food.

Calling All Real Living Lifestyles Agents!

As you know, all of our offices will be closed on July 29th as we dedicate the day to giving back to our communities.

We know that you will lead the way and sign up to participate in as many of the events mentioned above as possible. But we need more than that from our Real Living family and friends to make the CSD Fair a success.

  1. Sign up to pack food and donate blood (the links are at the top of this page)
  2. Distribute flyers of event to Westfield food and all vendors to promote event to the public, participate and/or partner with us.
  3. Volunteer to man a booth at the fair for part of the day.  Your Office Administrator has the sign up sheets.
  4. Pass out this Community Service Day Fair flier to your neighborhood inviting them to attend the event. (you can download it here)
  5. Walk your farm and ask people to make food and supply donations.  You can pick up the donations yourself or ask your farm to bring items to the CSD Fair.  There are brown bags available in every office; you may want to staple the flier and your business card to the bag.
  6. Send out the Community Service Day Fair flier to your contacts.  Link the email back to this website.
  7. Write about the CSD Fair on your Facebook page, Twitter page, website, blog site and other social networks
  8. Pass out fliers to the stores in Westfield Shopping Center Mall.  Let them know about the Fair and encourage them to promote our event.
  9. Get your kids involved.  Ask them to help you collect pajamas for other children and teach them about the beauty of charity.
  10. Order a CSD T-Shirt to show your team spirit.  (here is the t-shirt order form)
  11. Come to the fair and bring your kids, spouses, neighbors, friends… your entire entourage!

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a dental hygiene graduate from Southwestern College National City. I am writting this email to ask for an approval to participate at this event. I can gather some classmates to give out information for free dental hygiene cares that my school offers. And if it is possible for us to set up a booth for dental hygiene education? Please let me know. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Jenny Chen
